Real Talk on Women’s Health
Our South Metro Power of She Wellness Panel brought together four extraordinary experts for an honest, deeply validating conversation about what women are experiencing right now — and what the path to true wellness may look like in this season of life.
Across disciplines, one theme rang loud and clear: women are overwhelmed, burned out, and tired of being told to do more. The path forward isn’t a total life overhaul — it’s small, sustainable shifts rooted in self-awareness, nourishment, and support.
The Top Wellness Priorities for 2026
Jackie (Flourish Medical + Wellness) highlighted the urgent need for better education and care around perimenopause and menopause — from recognizing symptoms to understanding labs and treatment options. She also addressed the growing conversation around metabolic health and GLP medications, emphasizing appropriate use and medical guidance. Above all, she reinforced that personalized care matters: there is no one-size-fits-all approach to women’s health.
Dr. Sonja (Acupuncture & Chinese Medicine) encouraged women to stay rooted in their “why” as life accelerates. She spoke about sovereign health — taking informed responsibility in a healthcare system that often reacts rather than prevents — and the importance of reconnecting with the body and nervous system as the foundation for clarity, resilience, and sustainable growth.
Bridget (Lotus Counseling Center) focused on the “window of tolerance,” helping women understand how to regulate their nervous systems, process big emotions, and intentionally cultivate moments of joy even amid stress.
Lori (Mindful Health) urged a shift away from quick fixes toward sustainable habits and a growth mindset. Rather than chasing perfection, she encouraged women to start with one small, doable change, learn from setbacks, and listen to what their bodies are communicating — especially during midlife transitions.
What Women Are Struggling With Most
Panelists shared strikingly similar observations from their practices:
Overwhelm from trying to do everything “right” without feeling bette
Chronic stress showing up as fatigue, mood changes, cycle irregularities, and a sense of disconnection
Difficulty managing fear, sadness, and hopelessness
Rising interest in hormone therapy, metabolic health, and weight management tools
The most common request? Women simply want to feel like themselves again.
Guidance That Resonated
Despite different specialties, their advice aligned beautifully:
1. Start Simple — Not Perfect
Wellness doesn’t require an overhaul. Begin with what is doable now: eating real food, improving sleep, stepping outside, or building one supportive habit at a time. Small changes compound.
2. Address Big Emotions & Burnout
Unprocessed stress and minimized emotions take a real physical toll. Learning to calm the nervous system, ask for support, and create moments of joy is not indulgent — it’s essential.
3. Nourishment Over Restriction
Weight and metabolic struggles are not failures of willpower. The body needs adequate nourishment and hormonal support to function optimally. Restriction alone is not the answer.
